QuikGIF respects your privacy. Here is exactly what data the app handles.
Effective date: February 25, 2026
QuikGIF does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app runs entirely on your Mac with no network connections, no analytics, no telemetry, and no tracking of any kind.
QuikGIF uses the macOS Screen Recording permission (via ScreenCaptureKit) to capture the screen region you select. Captured frames are encoded into a GIF file locally on your Mac. No screen content is ever sent to any server or third party.
QuikGIF uses the macOS Accessibility permission to register global keyboard shortcuts. This permission is used solely for hotkey detection and is not used to read or monitor any user input or application content.
QuikGIF stores a small number of user preferences (such as your icon color choice and onboarding completion status) using macOS UserDefaults. These preferences are stored locally on your Mac and are not synced or transmitted anywhere.
QuikGIF does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or cloud services. The app makes no network requests.
QuikGIF does not collect any data from anyone, including children. The app is safe for users of all ages.
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Since QuikGIF collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
